Gallerie dell’Accademia Venice: the birth of the school
The Gallerie dell’Accademia Venice represent one of the most important art museums in Italy, housing priceless masterpieces of Venetian painting.
Founded in 1756 as part of a prestigious academic college, within the School innovative courses were established such as the teaching of perspective and architecture, as well as programs dedicated to the conservation and restoration of ancient works and public paintings.
Later, the School began to attract many visitors and the Galleries were opened to the public.
Today, the Academy remains a reference point for many artists who wish to learn the historical skills for which the School has always been famous.
